At Church of the Apostles, Open Space is a practice that is vital to our services. We make intentional moments to pause, heighten our senses, and invite reflection. We see music as connection and collaboration with all music-makers in our community, and as a form of prayer to center and nurture us. This album is meant to be an expression of those values and an instrument for others in their spiritual or meditative practice.

In these pieces, colorful washes of held notes create backdrops for quiet melodies that swell and recede. Rich textures and gentle moods sweep past. Sounds in the foreground and background change places, like clouds drifting to obscure and reveal the sun. In our busy lives and minds, music can provide a much needed "open space" in our souls. We offer these sounds of fullness and emptiness as a gift of peace for turbulent times.
